WAMS-AO Track and Field Team – 2025 Season
WAMS-AO is offering an opportunity for current 7th and 8th-grade students to join the WAMS Track and Field Team. Participation is open to students who can fully commit to the three-day-a-week schedule. Approximately 35 students will be rostered, with registration available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no tryouts.
Please register only if your child has no conflicting obligations.
- If a student is trying out for another spring sport, they may not register for track as a backup.
- Students who attempt to register for both will be removed from the track roster.
Season Details
- Season Duration: Mid-March through late May
- Practice Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM at WAMS
- Some practices (likely Mondays) will take place at Ridge High School. Parents must provide transportation to Ridge.
- Meets: Held on varying days, with home meets at Ridge High School.
- Away meets will be held at other schools, and parents are responsible for transportation.
- Events Include:
- Track: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m races, and hurdles
- Field: Shot put and long jump
Registration Information
- Cost: $275 per student
- Note: There are no refunds after registration.
Athletic Physical Forms
Every student registering must submit the following:
- Athletic Pre-Participation Physical
- Health History Update
Submission Instructions:
- Forms must be uploaded as a single document via Genesis under the FORMS tab.
- Complete the WAMS Athletic Registration Form and upload your documents by the deadline.
- Early submission is strongly recommended to address any corrections or missing information.
Incomplete or late submissions will result in forfeiting the roster spot and registration fee. For detailed form requirements, visit the FORMS or FAQs tab.
Additional Notes
- The team will compete in the CJJSAA middle school league.
- Practices and meets require parental transportation to Ridge High School as needed.
