WAMS-AO is excited to offer 7th and 8th-grade boys the opportunity to try out for the WAMS Boys Baseball Team! The season runs from early March to late May, with practices and games scheduled three times a week.

Tryout Details:

• Dates & Times:
  • March 17 and March 19, 2025, from 4PM to 6PM
    • Location: Centercourt Sports – Gillette, 230 New Vernon Rd, Gillette, NJ 07933
  • March 21, 2025, at 2:45 PM (pitchers and catchers only)
    • Location: WAMS Gym
    • Students may wait in Room 111 study hall until the coach arrives.

Important Information:

• Attendance at all tryout dates is mandatory.
• Evaluations will be based on a standardized scoring rubric.
• Team selection is solely performance-based, with no quotas or grade-level preferences.
• Only 7th and 8th graders are eligible to try out.

Tryout Rules:

• Parents are not allowed to observe tryouts.
• Players must not wear clothing that identifies them or any travel/club/team affiliation.
• Players should bring their own gear, including a mitt and a bat with a -3 drop.

Registration Requirements:

• All participants must submit an Athletic Pre-Participation Physical and/or a Health History Update Form before tryouts.
• Visit the FORMS and FAQs tabs for details on required submissions.
• Forms must be submitted electronically via Genesis by completing the WAMS Athletic Registration Form and uploading all pages as a single document. Early submission is highly encouraged to resolve any issues promptly.

Costs:

• Tryout Fee: $20 (non-refundable)
• Estimated Team Member Fee: $325 (non-refundable for selected players)
